Promoting Your Website

Promote Your Website

After you have built your website you need to get traffic. This is when you have to use your imagination to Promote Your Website but here are a few ideas to get you going.

Holding a contest or sweepstakes is a great way to get people talking about your website. You can contact dozens of websites that hold free that list free contests and sweepstakes. Use press release sites to advertise your contest or sweepstakes. Ask entrants to your contest or sweepstakes if they would accept offers from your business in the future by e-mail.

Use online chat rooms that are within your niche topic to promote your web site.
Let it be known to everyone in the chat room
something interesting or free that's offered on your
web site. Don't spam the chat rooms though or you will be banned. You need to ad valid comments about what the topics of the conversations are about then, and only then add that announce that your website may have some of the answers that people are asking..

If you have another website place your link on it and invite readers to visit your other site. Try to find other sites with similar interests and swap links with them. It would be better however,
if the other site was not in direct competition with yours.

You can easily promote your web site by using traffic generators. It could be a free e-zine, service, e-book,contest etc. Giving away traffic generators gives you the
opportunity to get free advertising by including your advert on them. There are online directories that will also let you submit your freebie information. You can even let other people give away your traffic generators.

Posting messages to e-mail discussion lists is a great way to promote your web site An e-mail discussion list is a group of people connected together via e-mail that can communicate with one another. When you post a message to a list include your signature file at the end. Include an attention getting sentence why they should
visit your web site.

I hope this spurs your imagination. I always put my blog link straight after my signature on any emails I send which is a good idea.
